How to Reveal Results
Build suspense and reveal your contest winners with a dramatic reveal page designed for maximum impact.
Step 1: Close Your Contest
Before revealing results, you need to close the contest:
- Navigate to your contest dashboard
- Change the contest status from "Open" to "Closed"
- This stops new votes from being submitted
- Results can only be revealed when the contest is closed
Step 2: Make Results Visible
Once your contest is closed:
- Go to the Results Control page (accessible from your contest dashboard)
- Click "Make Results Visible" or toggle the visibility setting
- This makes results accessible to judges and participants
- Results will show winners, rankings, and score breakdowns
Step 3: Use the Reveal Page
For a dramatic reveal experience:
- From the Results Control page, click "Reveal Winners"
- The reveal page shows:
- Top 3 winners with rankings (or more with ties)
- Category winners
- Score breakdowns
- Confetti animations
- Perfect for displaying on a TV or projector during your event
- The reveal page is designed for both mobile and large screens
Step 4: Share Results
Results can be accessed by:
- Public Results Page: Share the contest code - anyone can view results once visible
- Reveal Page: Use the dramatic reveal page for live events
Tips
- Build Suspense: Close the contest before revealing to build anticipation
- Live Reveal: Use the reveal page on a large screen for dramatic effect
- Gradual Reveal: You can reveal third place first, then second, then first
- Export Results: Download results as CSV or PDF for records or printing
- Ties: The system handles ties automatically using weighted category scores
Troubleshooting
- Can't reveal?: Make sure the contest status is "Closed"
- No results?: Ensure at least some judges have submitted scores
- Results not visible?: Check that you've toggled "Make Results Visible" in Results Control
